Summer Fun!

barefoot.jpgMy favorite time of year is on the horizon… summertime rocks!  We love this time of year around here, and we always make the most of it.  Hubby and I planted some tomatoes, onions, and radishes in a little patch we created with railroad ties.  And I bought one of those hanging upside-down tomato growers… I’ll let ya know how that works.

As far as vacation goes, it’s always Florida.  Love that place.  I love breathing in all that salty air and sunshine.  I think I was a mermaid in a past life.  LOL.  I swear, the water signs in my family run rampant big time.  My mom was an Aquarius, I’m a Cancer along with one granddaughter, and a daughter and granddaughter share the Pisces sign.  And trust me, the more you read up on astrology there is definitely something there.  Hubby is of the earth, so I guess we nurture one another.

As far as goals this summer, I’ll complete my WIP and go through the editing process.  I’m giving myself the summer to get it right and begin my next project, which I’m getting excited about. Love those flashes on the horizon, that compel me take a closer look.  I was driving down the road the other day, and a female character for my next project started jabbering in my ear.  We’re not talking about a, “Hey there, just wanted to drop by,” comment.  We’re talking about the entire 25 minute drive to my daughter’s house.  I learned about this gal’s mama, and picked up on her mood and rode the wave with a smile on my face.  I very much love what I heard and saw, so the sun came out early that day.  I’m excited to start on her story.

Tomorrow is my blog day at Magical, so stop by if you can.  I’ll be chatting about the writer’s soul.

What are you plans for the summer?

Gosh, girl. I can’t believe I’ve been neglecting your blog. *slaps back of hand*

As for my summer, I’m looking forward to my mother moving down from NY and helping me get the nursery in order. That’s going to be loads of fun. Of course, my brother is coming down too, so I’ll be giving him all of the hard stuff like putting the crib, dressers, etc. together. And of course, summer movies, baby. Yeah!

Hey Marica, don’t slap yourself too hard there. I’ve been a MAJOR blog slacker lately too. My intentions are great, it’s just getting all my ducks in a row. And with the great weather, I see a pattern here. It’s like the kid who likes to cut classes so she can play!

And I love your baby news! You life is turning into a beautiful flower garden, girl! The best is on the horizon.

LaD, this is a great blog. And I love the picture! It sounds like you’re summer is going to be wonderful. Marcia’s too!

Hey Edie, thanks! I totally fell for that pic too, and wasn’t sure if I was going to use it a Magical or here. lol. I knew the perfect time would roll around, and when I wrote this blog I saw the litte foot in my mind and thought, Ah Ha!

Terrific blog, LaD. Makes me think of the things I want to accomplish this summer. The last two summers have been sort of a bust as far as my garden goes. This year, I feel well enough to do some major planting in the veggie gardens. Already got some of my herbs in and just purchased my tomatoes, cukes, peppers and onions. Can’t wait to get ‘em in.

Thanks, Liz! I’m behind on my flower garden, but Ran and I did good on the tomatoes and few veggies. My dad always planted a really nice garden, and one thing I remember is that we always had fresh veggies on the table with our meals. Give me a warm tomato from the sun, and a salt shaker and I’m in heaven!

:) Love the pic, LaD. I’m going from summer to winter. Looking forward to a bit of rain, actually. But we have such great weather all year round, neither season is a hardship. Have fun in the sun!

I love that cute foot pic! :-) I hope you have a fantastic summer. I’ll be heading over to the beach whenever I have some spare time–my son finds the waves magical at 3. (At,ahem, more than 3, I do, too!)

  9. LaDonna Says:

Hey Michelle, I fell in love with that cute foot too! And one day, my family and I are definitely visiting Australia! We’ve wanted to go for a long time now. It will be fun to see the beauty first hand. Lucky you!

Hey Cindy, I knew baby lovers would appreciate the pic! My granddaughter is with us in Panama City now on vacation, and can’t take her eyes off the babies here. I know where she gets it too! Have fun at the beach with the little guy. One day, he’ll be 10 like my grandson, and you’ll have to chase him for sugars cause he’ll be so busy riding the waves.
