Success

The real moment of success is not the moment apparent to the crowd… George Bernard Shaw.

Wow!  I cleaned a bookshelf today, and newer books had blocked this treasure.  The book is called, SOMETHING MORE, Excavating Your Authentic Self.   Basically the author, Sarah Ban Breathnach, goes on to explain that authentic success is internal.  “It comes from a moment of awareness that I can do it, or I have done it. And the best part is it can’t be taken away from you,” she says.

I love this, and wanted to share it with you.  I believe writing is one of the toughest games out there.  Not because it’s always difficult,  but those early years for me carried moments of doubt.  Would I see my dreams come true, and deeper…was I talented enough.  That emotion can be brutual, and doesn’t have favorites. You must keep writing, and the circumstances aren’t always conducive to that.  Rarely, I’d say.

Once after getting a rejection in the mail, I remember thinking it really didn’t matter in the big scheme of things.  I wasn’t about to quit. I’d grown that protective layer by then.  I’ll always have my writing, I thought. No one can take that joy away from me.  Success.  And that was a few years ago, and a defining moment for me.

I’d love to hear your moment of success stories.  They’re not always obvious… sometimes they’re quiet like the one I described.  And those moments come every day, I believe.  We just have to notice them.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my site!  I’m so happy with Stonecreek Media, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about Amy and Justin Knupp.  Pros all the way!

I’ll be posting weekly, and hope you’ll visit often.  Since I blog at Magical Musings on Fridays, I’m happy to say I can actually manage WordPress.  A load off my mind.  I’ve been decoding website terminology for the last few weeks.  Did I mention I can get easily confused with a remote control in my hands?

So, to say Amy and Justin are patient is putting it mildly.  She said they could, “Walk me through the process.”  I told Amy, “You’ll have to hold my hand too.”  And she did, so a big hug your way!

So, what about y’all?  Was your website experience a positive one like mine, or a horror story all the way?  And if you’re contemplating one, have you decided what you want? Curious minds want to know.
